Vom Winde verweht… Lacy Magic with People by People

You’re asking how a brainstorming session for our beloved Seaside Glamour ft. Pictures of Clementine category looks like? Well here’s a behind-the-scenes scoop for you guys:  Clementine and I usually sit together and have a cup of vanilla chocolate tea (our favourite by the way). And believe me, Clementine and I do get over excited – our goal is to create high quality, fashion photos inspired by the likes of Vogue Magazine or our favourite fashion photographers Kristian Schuller or Tim Walker. However, the challenge is to create all of it on a low budget and all self made by us of course – no make up team, stylists or assistants. We mostly shoot on weekends, as Clementine and I are both working ladies, meaning we have to plan our free time wisely and as you can imagine our shootings do take quite a few hours on top of which we have to add the editing time and writing of the actual blog post. But, we believe in what we have accomplished in this short amount of time that we are officially blogging now.

This time we have had the pleasure to collaborate with People by People, an asian brand that does bags and sunglasses. I adore their basic but chic designs and the quality is really amazing too. Extra smooth leather and nice patterns with an edgy twist. Now, how to best present a clutch and a mini bag? Of course – the obvious – lay down on the floor with a lacy blanket and take seducing photos 😀 But as explained above, we want to build a bridge between high fashion photography and affordable looks. So we have to think out of the box sometimes, merely taking photos of the beautiful bags would have been far from exciting.

Best part of it all, is how much fun it is to work with master mind Clementine! We shot in her very cute, cosy appartment and you would not believe how versatile this little paradise of hers is! Sometimes, even the both of us get blown away by how we manage to take photos that look like we went into the biggest studio to shoot, when really we’ve just been taking them in Cementine’s bedroom! When we took the following photos I said to Clementine I would like to shoot some shots on the floor laying down, as I was inspired by one of Kenza Zouiten’s latest posts (my favourite swedish fashion blogger, see here). It also seems to me that Clementine has the biggest selection of shooting props – no need to buy lacy fabrics or whatever we might need – there’s a good chance she has it hidden somewhere in her pretty little appartment. It’s like a magic box for props – I love it!

Anyways, on to what we are wearing – we went for a little more sexy outfit this time: pencil skirts, lacy black tops by Few Moda and black strapless bra’s that are meant to be shown off. I am wearing the black „WOW“ clutch by People by People (lovely plain design with a cheeky message :-)) It also has the perfect size to even take your powder, lipstick and other essentials with you on a night out.  Clementine is wearing a more compact little square bag with golden studs on, for a more edgy look.

Enough ramble on my part for today, make sure to read Clementine’s German version to learn more about our shooting and how we created all of this.

xoxo Tanja
